Kansas City Startup Weekend

{ April 27th, 2009 }

I just got back from the first ever Kansas City Startup Weekend.  It was an amazing experience.  Lots of talent and great ideas over a 52 hour span.  I’ve got so many great ideas now, I just need time to do them!

Anyway, since I’ve met up with some great people who are into startups, I’ve decided to bring the site out of obscurity once more and invite everyone I know from KCSW.  I still think it would be awesome to get together with other startup junkies on a semi-regular basis to kick back and chat over a drink or two.  So, we’ll see what happens.

SCORE in KC

{ July 16th, 2008 }

SCORE stands for “Service Corps of Retired Executives”.  They’re in KC and I believe they’re backed by the SBA (Small Business Association). Anyway, they’ve got a free advisory service for small business and–you guessed it–startups!

Welcome to KC StartupDrinks

{ July 16th, 2008 }

Hello to everyone in the Kansas City area.

So what is Startup Drinks?

a) A drinking group with a startup problem.
b) A low key, unstructured group drinking (coffee, beer or spirits) event that happens in cities across the world
c) Therapy for startup junkies (you don’t have two days to go to a conference, but you do have two hours and would love to stay involved in the community)

KC Skyline

As we know, the KC area has been growing in technology steadily for many years and it seems an excellent place to foster Startups! We have just about the lowest cost-of-living here as any other metropolitan area, so all we need are the people to make it happen. That’s where you come in. If you’re looking to get together informally with other startup junkies (or those who want to be involved) post a comment! As soon as we get some activity, we can see about setting up our first meet.
